The lesson plan below uses an adaptation of Shelly Moore’s planning page. I really like her levels of participation for her success criteria and that there is something for everyone in that. I think the language in the “I need to, I must, I can, I could, I can try to” really gives students a jumping off point and helps us focus on what those steps are as teachers as well. I typically share my I can statements but may switch to the new language so students who might not reach the ” I can” can still see success in the ” I need to” and “I must” .
