I have to say I’m jealous of everyone who can use Flip Grid in your classrooms. My district has decided that it is not FOIPPA compliant due to some data being stored in the United States. I was able to connect with one of our elementary tech leaders and she has suggested using Microsoft Sway as an alternative. My district is fairly restrictive in what apps and websites we may use in our classrooms particularly at the elementary level. When working with technology and selecting apps we must choose from our district app list and only those are allowed on district devices. I am interested to see how Sway works for having students up load their work to a collaborative one as I have previously only been using Sway to create my weekly newsletter for families. Currently I have my students using clips to make short videos to explain concepts or what we are learning and uploading their videos to their MyBlueprint digital portfolio that will follow them through grade 12.
Here is my lesson plan for using Flip Grid or Sway.
