After viewing the course materials for this section I chose 5 characteristics of good assessment to create an infographic. My 5 characteristics combine information from multiple sources including reading classmate’s discussion board posts to create my own overview. One of the ideas that keeps coming back to me in this module is are we assessing for what we intended? Not only content validity with in a subject area but also for cross curricular skills, a math assessment should not be literacy heavy as we are then asking students to demonstrate their decoding and comprehension skills along with their problem solving and mathematical fluency. I also feel that it is important to give a student more than one opportunity to demonstrate a skill and their understanding of a concept to be able to make the best inferences we can about their understanding.
